Dana White continues to take shots at Eddie Hearn, but the feud might not be going as he hopes.
On Thursday, following the UFC 332 press conference in Salt Lake City, White spoke to reporters about a variety of topics, including his ongoing beef with Hearn and how it relates to the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua boxing match on Dec. 11. Hearn has repeatedly said White has no official involvement in the bout, while White claims he is both promoting and producing the event.
“Was I lying? Was I wrong? Am I not the promoter?,” White told MMA Fighting. “Am I not producing the entire f*cking event? The answer is yes. I think the difference between me and Eddie is Eddie’s trying to win some PR battle. Eddie likes to see himself on interviews. He likes to talk a lot and talking a lot will get you in a lot of f*cking trouble.”
White later added in a few more personal shots at Hearn for good measure.
“I’ll put it to you this way: Like I said, judge me at the end of the year,” White said. “Let’s see how this whole thing looks in a couple of years. The writing is on the wall. Whatever little f*cking—pardon me, ladies—p*ssy game he thinks he won, he’s out of his mind. He’s incredibly delusional. He knows what’s going on.”
On Friday, Hearn issued his response, a brutal montage of clips of White’s previous comments concerning the Fury vs. Joshua fight in which White appears to overstate his involvement in the fight only to later be proven wrong.
“Gonna leave this one here,” Hearn wrote in a caption. “Time to move on to the big stuff. 10 weeks today the biggest fight in British boxing history! Let’s gooooo”
The montage includes White’s repeated claims that Fury vs. Joshua would take place in the U.S., as opposed to its eventual landing spot, Cardiff, Wales. White has also previously been unable to articulate exactly what role he played in making the fight happen—if any—and his name was noticeably absent from the official roll call at the beginning of Wednesday’s press conference for the fight. White’s name was mentioned by Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh, and was immediately met with boos.
Hearn particularly had fun with a soundbite in which White asks, “You think that I would publicly lie and then look like a f*cking idiot in front of everybody?”
However, as White suggests, perhaps the final statement is yet to be made, as his allies Alalshikh and Nick Khan have insisted White is still involved with the Dec. 11 bout in some capacity.
