Manchester City may be in the news for all the wrong reasons off the pitch but on it they continue to impress.
Sunday’s win at Liverpool was hugely satisfyig and extended their winning start to the season to eight games. One of those victories came in the Champions League, away at Porto, and Enzo Maresca’s men already look shoo-ins to secure a place in the top eight.
The same can be said for two-time defending champions PSG.
PSG also made a perfect start in Europe, thrashing Slovan Bratislava 6-1 in Paris. Luis Enrique’s side have been less convincing in Ligue 1, but they beat Le Mans 3-1 on Saturday, and with Ousmane Dembélé, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha all rested or only used off the bench, they should arrive in Manchester fresh.
City fans will remember the last time these sides met in the league phase. In January 2025, City led 2-0 in Paris before PSG roared back to win 4-2.
