An admin error led to Glastonbury coach tickets for next year’s festival being oversold through its official ticketing partner, it has emerged.
The BBC reports that coach package tickets were sold for certain departures than there were seats available, according to an email sent to customers from See Tickets.
Fans will be able to breathe a sigh of relief, however, as those affected will not lose their tickets.
Instead, the bookings will be automatically converted to general admission tickets, with the coach fare refunded.
Unless affected customers opt to keep their coach seat before 31 October 2026, their booking will automatically be converted to general admission, the See Tickets email stated.
The coach fare will then be refunded to the card used for the original booking.
The company’s customer service department reassured customers that the error would not affect their festival deposits, and that they would be able to pay the remaining balance for their tickets as normal in April.
Adding an apology, See Tickets wrote that they were “looking forward to welcoming you to the festival in June”.
The Independent has contacted See Tickets for comment. The BBC reports that Glastonbury was not responsible for the error.

It is likely that many fans will in fact be pleased with the news, as they will have snapped up the earliest tickets available rather than risk missing out in the general sale, which offers more flexibility with travel arrangements.
Coach tickets require that holders board their designated coach for the journey to the festival or risk being denied entry.
Coach tickets to next year’s festival, which will return after its traditional fallow year in 2026, sold out in under 30 minutes when they were released earlier this month, while the general sale also sold out in less than an hour.
The lineup for the 2027 bonanza at Worthy Farm has yet to be announced, but among the strongest rumours for headliners are rock singer-songwriter Sam Fender, Irish rock band Fontaines DC, and pop stars Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.
Fender this week announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour, which will take place next year and include his biggest headline shows to date, with two nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
The stadium tour is currently set to conclude in June… shortly before Glastonbury kicks off on 23 June.
Meanwhile, Fontaines DC are also embarking on their own stadium tour in support of their latest, critically adored album, Dopamine Chamber. The band also currently have a Glastonbury-shaped hole in their touring schedule.
