Aaron Pico and Losene Keita ahead of UFC 333 | Jeff Bottari, Zuffa LLC
This is the UFC 333 live blog for Aaron Pico vs. Losene Keita, the main card featherweight bout Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Pico is currently No. 12 at 145 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.
In his most recent fight, Pico (14-5) won a unanimous decision over fellow former Bellator star Patricio Pitbull to earn his first UFC victory and bounce back from a disappointing debut against Lerone Murphy. Prior to joining the UFC, Pico had won nine of 10 fights competing for Bellator and the PFL. Pico is known for his get-or-get-got style, having gone to the scorecards just three times in his 19-fight career, but could be turning the corner and finally living up to his championship potential.
Keita (17-2) also fell short in his UFC debut, losing a close split decision to Nathaniel Wood, but he scored a spectacular first-round knockout over Muhammadjon Naimov in his sophomore outing. The former two-division Oktagon MMA champion steps in on short notice for an injured Arnold Allen with a chance to get a number next to his name with a win on Saturday.

Preamble
Ok guys, here we go! The prelims ended with a BANG, three straight first-round finishes thanks to Dominick Reyes, Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev and Abus Magomedov, and now it’s up to Pico and Keita to keep the train rolling in the featherweight division.
Round 1
The third man inside the octagon for this one is Lukasz Bosacki. Pico and Keita touch gloves, and we are underway!
Pico shoots for a single leg takedown immediately and Keita is on his back in a matter os seconds. Keita tries to escape and gives away his back, but manages to get back to his feet. Keita lands a good punch as they separate. A one-two combo rocks Keita though, and Pico drops him! WOW! PICO POUNDS OUT KEITA IN THE FIRST ROUND! It’s all over!
