WoW Forever Leaks are here, and the game hasn’t even hit live servers. The leak mill is already running at full tilt. An anonymous post on 4chan (yes, that site) reckons Blizzard has a paid pack lined up for not long after launch, called Shadows of Lordaeron, priced at $30, $60 or $90 depending on how deep your pockets go.
So, what is in this WoW Forever leak?
WoW Forever Leak
- Worgen for the Alliance
- Darkfallen elves for the Horde
- Gilneas as a new zone
- Two raids, Vault of Origins and The Cursed Throne
- Two dungeons, Manor Mistmantle and Farholde Catacombs
- A healer legendary questline for Elarathil, Branch of Eternity
So is it real? A chunk of it lines up with what’s sitting in the beta client right now, while some of it seems to be pulled from thin air. Worgen are in the game files, at least via the Gilneas zone and a Battle for Gilneas PvP area. The Manor Mistmantle dungeon is basically confirmed because the outer building is in the game, and we know a legendary questline is coming in future, with datamined quest strings pointing at the World Tree and a healer staff. So the “leak” only really adds Darkfallen, a second dungeon and two raids.
Line it up against Blizzard’s spring 2027 roadmap, and it gets even fishier. That update promises two new raids, two new dungeons, a new playable area and a legendary questline. The leak lists two raids, two dungeons, one zone and one legendary, a one-to-one match with something anyone can read. Spring is also the next big update after December’s raids, so “not long after launch” is a stretch.
The Roadmap
The WoW Forever roadmap covers us to around summer 2027, but after that, roughly a year after release, we don’t know. Blizzard will want to inject some sort of large purchase into the game from time to time, since Retail-style expansions don’t really fit Forever.
So far, the content Blizzard has locked behind a paywall is the Skyborne race, which requires you to purchase the Forever bundles to unlock. Every raid and dungeon on the roadmap comes with your sub. Blizzard has previously monetised Classic WoW expansions via level boosts and cosmetic rewards roughly once per year. Blizzard could use Forever’s new content as an excuse to charge, but how do you not fragment the player base with such a move? That opens up a nightmare scenario where players need to check what content they have; you would see similar things with Call of Duty map packs in the past.
The alternative is to charge for new classes or races, plus some cosmetic rewards to go along with it. But this WoW Forever leak goes further, implying an expansion’s worth of content behind a paywall. If only the races were paywalled, Blizzard would be relying on people paying up for new races, and letting those players effectively fund the new content. Microsoft’s CEO called the Forever beta the biggest in Warcraft history, and the only guaranteed way in was the $60 Epic Pack.
If you were trying to convince your shareholders how to monetise in future, that sort of willingness to pay for Skyborne would be a good way to justify it. Not to give them ideas, but you could even see three bundles dropping: one for each race and one more expensive including both. That’s also where the leak’s pricing wobbles, as there’s no $90 tier in Forever. The top pack is $79.99.
When leaks are right (and wrong)
The famous win is Battle for Azeroth. A user on MMO-Champion called allied races, the zones and several big plot threads before BlizzCon 2017. The user was laughed out of the thread, mostly because void elves sounded made up, and then Blizzard announced void elves.
Dragonflight leaked from basically every direction. A leaker called Scaleface posted details on MMO-Champion before the April 2022 reveal, Dracthyr and Evokers included. Blizzard then spilt it itself when Wowhead found the name, plus Base, Heroic and Epic editions, sitting in the official website’s code. Blizzard is, frankly, its own worst leaker.
We’ve also been here before with worgen. Prior to The Burning Crusade’s new Alliance race being revealed, a “leak” swore blind it would be the people of Gilneas, turned into worgen. We got Draenei. Worgen did turn up eventually, just in Cataclysm.
Then there’s Forever itself, which is the bit that makes this new post interesting. On 30 October 2025, an anonymous 4chan post about “Infinite Classic Plus” started doing the rounds, and Blizzard said nothing for months. In June 2026, dataminer Stiven tied patch 1.60 to an internal project codenamed Camelot, and BlizzCon later confirmed the whole thing as WoW Forever.
That 4chan post got the big picture right and plenty of the details wrong. One version had blood elves as a neutral race choosing a faction at level 5. What we actually got was a neutral elf race choosing a faction at character creation, just a brand new one in the Skyborne. Close, but no cigar. Honestly, 4chan leaks have a pretty poor track record, and anonymity means they get far more credit than they’ve earned. Some reckon this poster called the recent racial changes early, but nothing links the two posts, and anyone can claim that after the fact.
Why the WoW Forever leak has legs

The Battle for Gilneas datamine is the most interesting thing that this WoW Forever leak hangs onto. The battleground’s own description talks about the Greymane Wall coming down and the Forsaken and worgen finally having it out. Alliance worgen against a Horde undead-flavoured race is exactly the matchup the 4chan post describes, and darkfallen elves (undead elves, the dark ranger lot) slot neatly onto the Forsaken side of that scrap.
It isn’t just text in a database either. Streamer Esfand got summoned inside Gilneas on the beta back on 28 September and had a mooch round the canals and Gothic worgen architecture. Players who tried sneaking in found the city sealed off, with level 63 worgen on the land route and level 63 sharks waiting for anyone who fancied a swim.

Why it might be a load of rubbish
In an interview with TechRadar Gaming, Blizzard said it has “no plans to add races from WoW’s expansions at this time”, because Forever runs in its own timeline and builds off the original game’s lore. Worgen are a Cataclysm race. That’s about as direct a contradiction as you’ll get.
Two caveats. “At this time” is doing a lot of work, though it would be weird if the first post-launch announcement was exactly what Blizzard just said it wouldn’t do. Funnily enough, darkfallen elves dodge the rule completely, since they’ve never been a proper playable race in retail, only a skin tone unlock for elves.
Several versions of the post are also doing the rounds with different features, and real insiders don’t remix their own leak. Strip out what’s already public and all that’s left is a handful of names, which is exactly what a faker would invent.
What we Think Blizzard Will Actually do
Gilneas is the spring update’s new playable area; Worgen will follow. They’ve been prowling Silverpine since 2004, so they fit the Vanilla ideal perfectly, and they’ve always been a popular race.
When they do become playable, they’ll be sold like the Skyborne as a roughly $30 race pack, while raids and dungeons stay in the sub. The Horde will get a race to go alongside them, and Darkfallen are the obvious pick. They suit a Forsaken-versus-Worgen Gilneas, and they slip past Blizzard’s “no expansion races” rule. The shape of this WoW Forever leak is right. It’s the $90 price tag we’re not buying.
