Josh King earned his first call-up to the England squad for the nation’s upcoming fixtures against Croatia and Spain.
The Fulham star could earn his first-ever cap in this international window, along with Jobe Bellingham, who also earned his first call-up, while it would be an incredible story if Jason Steele were to be awarded his first England appearance after all his work under Thomas Tuchel during the World Cup.
Despite being only 19 years old, King is currently playing in his third Premier League season; however, despite three years in one of the biggest leagues in the world, he has yet to receive training that is deemed essential by every club in the division.

Josh King rejects training deemed essential by every Premier League club
Press relations has become a vital skill for many footballers, particularly due to how quickly their words can be interpreted incorrectly, so for many their every word is heavily curated by a communications team at their respective Premier League club.
In the last month alone, fans witnessed the carefully edited online statement from Lisandro Martinez after he made damning remarks post-match about the Manchester United hierarchy following a humbling defeat to Como in the Champions League.
So, the fact that King opted not to receive this training was an interesting choice from the new England star.
The Fulham star explained to The Times why he has opted not to receive this training, with the report praising the youthful star for being emotionally intelligent and self-aware.
King said: “I feel like you become a little bit more robotic if you have media training. I feel like you’re thinking of what to say, when I prefer to just come across as natural.
“When it comes from the person, it almost puts you in a better light than when it comes from someone else because it shows that you’ve got the courage and almost have the balls to stand up and speak out about what just happened.
“If a more experienced player talked about it, they might not have given it the justice or the opinion which I had because it meant more to me than it would to them.”

How Josh King earned his England call-up
Despite Fulham struggling this season in the Premier League, as they sit 15th in the division, there have been signs that they are starting to turn a corner under Alvaro Arbeloa.
They are unbeaten in their last three matches, with two wins and a draw, after a terrible beginning to the campaign.
However, King had been a constant positive throughout the campaign, despite the hard times at the start of the season.
The 19-year-old has started every game in the Premier League this season, netting on two occasions and providing an important assist against Coventry City to help earn all three points.
According to Fotmob, he has been in fine form this campaign, earning a 7.23 rating through both his contribution in attack but also for the defensive effort of Fulham.
