The Florida Panthers will take on the Washington Capitals today, but they’ll do so with center Anton Lundell.
The 25-year-old was said to be out by coach Paul Maurice shortly before game time with an undisclosed injury. Lundell has played in every Panthers game up to this point, scoring four goals and six points in 16 games.
Lundell had a tough start offensively to his 2026-27 NHL season, but he has begun to turn things around. On Oct. 30, Lundell recorded a hat trick in a 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
With Lundell out of today’s lineup, Cole Reinhardt will rejoin the squad. Reinhardt has been in the press box for quite some time now, most recently playing on Oct. 22. He’s played just one NHL game this season, failing to register a point but recorded 10:03 of ice time.
Reinhardt will skate on the third line with Lars Eller and Eetu Luostarinen. Reinhardt will play on the right wing with Eller shifting back to the middle of the ice in Lundell’s absence.
Following this afternoon’s fixture, the Panthers are back in action on Sunday against the Boston Bruins. Lundell’s availability for tomorrow’s matchup is undetermined.
