A new update suggests Michael Bay‘s Skibidi Toilet movie is still alive. The awaited film is based on a very popular YouTube web series of the same name.

Michael Bay was previously brought on to make a Skibidi Toilet movie, but the project hasn’t witnessed a major development so far. Now it seems things are heading in the right direction.
Invisible Narratives, the studio behind the TV projects and film adaptation of the Skibidi Toilet YouTube web series, has recently announced it has secured $25 million in investment, according to Variety. While it’s unclear whether the funds will be directed toward the Skibidi Toilet movie, Invisible Narratives’ founder Adam Goodman has shared a crucial update that may hint at what lies ahead.
Talking about the Skibidi Toilet movie and TV projects, Goodman said that his studio is “in active conversations with a number of studios and partners.”
“‘Skibidi’ is one of the most globally recognized original franchises to emerge from that world, so choosing the right home is critical, and there is real momentum around that process,” he added. Goodman, aformer head of Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Studios, founded the company back in 2018.
Over the past two years, Invisible Narratives has been developing Skibidi Toilet into a multiplatform entertainment brand. It’s obviously due to the growing popularity of the YouTube channel that has amassed over 47 million subscribers and more than 20 billion views.
The franchise was created by YouTuber Alexey Gerasimov. He initially uploaded an 11-second video of a head popping out from a toilet and singing. This short was shared on Gerasimov’s DaFuq!?Boom! YouTube channel. At this point, the series has expanded into a sci-fi saga about an invasion of aliens who look like toilets with human heads.
The Skibidi Toilet movie has yet to receive an official release date window.
