Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane put England firmly back on course to win World Cup 2026 Group L by giving the Three Lions a 2-0 lead against resolute Panama on Saturday.
Real Madrid’s Bellingham poked the ball against the turf and past goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera from Bukayo Saka’s corner in the 62nd minute in New Jersey, providing relief for a team who had been behind in the live table because Croatia led against Ghana in the simultaneous deciding game in the section.

Harry Kane headed in Bellingham’s cross five minutes later, making the captain his country’s all-time top scorer at the finals with his 11th goal at the World Cup, one ahead of Gary Lineker.
World Cup 2026: Bellingham ‘superstar’ for England vs Croatia
Former England right-back Gary Neville said Bellingham’s value to England should never be in question.
“He is a superstar and absolutely our best player in this game by a mile,” added Neville, who said Thomas Tuchel’s team had been “struggling badly” to break down their eliminated opponents.
“The faces started to look a little bit drained on the forward players. They looked like they were a little bit tense.”
