Restricted free-agent center Quinten Post signed a three-year offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies that could be worth up to $30 million, according to a league source who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been completed. Only the first year of the year of deal is fully guaranteed at $9 million, another league source not authorized to discuss the deal told The Athletic.

Post, 26, averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 67 games for the Golden State Warriors last season. While coach Steve Kerr praised Post’s play at various points during the year, the Boston College product seemed to fall out of the rotation near the end of the season.

The Warriors have until midnight ET Tuesday to match the deal. However, it would be surprising if they did, for several reasons. Most notably, re-signing Post at that number would prevent the Warriors from using their non-taxpayer midlevel exception, worth around $15 million. The Warriors are still holding out hope that LeBron James will sign for that amount to pair up with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green next season. If Post is re-signed, the Warriors would only be able to offer James a veteran’s minimum contract.

While Post had his moments last season, his future within the organization got even hazier at February’s trade deadline with the addition of veteran Kristaps Porziņģis. Both Porziņģis and fellow veteran Al Horford have since re-signed with the Warriors on two-year deals, while Golden State also took 6-foot-9 big man Yaxel Lendeborg in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft. With all three of those players in the fold, Post does not appear to fit on this roster, especially at this price point.
