A tidy saving on this brilliant PC gamepad (which also works with Xbox consoles, albeit only wired). It features an astonishing 1000 Hz polling rate for higher precision, TMR analog sticks, face button microswitches, Hall Effect triggers, paddle buttons, 2.4 Ghz wireless and Bluetooth: it basically has everything you want form a pro controller, without being priced like a pro controller.

While traditionally best for headsets, keyboards and mice, Amazon sales are increasingly the best opportunity to pick up PC-compatible gamepads for cheap. The market for gamepads and controllers is nowadays very competitive, mostly because the likes of Razer, 8BitDo, Turtle Beach and GameSir make good products, and not cheap and inferior alternatives to first-party console controllers like was the norm a decade ago.
Actually, most third-party gamepads are plainly better than the Xbox or PS5 controllers. Drift-free Hall effect analog sticks are nowadays de riguer for third-party controllers. Similarly, rear paddle buttons. They tend to be a tad pricier than the DualSense or the Xbox controller, but they also come with more buttons, more customisation, and technology that avoids rapid stick wear.
The GameSir G7 Pro is the best gamepad for PC gaming, full stop. It’s right at the top of our list of the best PC controllers in 2026, thanks to the way it makes all the most sought after “Pro” style trimmings affordable.
Here’s what you’re getting:
- Two rear paddle buttons
- Two extra claw grip buttons
- Trigger stops
- Gyro support (!)
- Three D-pad varieties
- Charging base
- 1000Hz polling rate (versus the 126Hz polling rate in the Xbox controller!)
- Wired, 2.4Ghz wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity
- Ten hours battery
- TMR drift free analog sticks
On that final note: TMR is a more advanced anti-drift tech than Hall effect. I explain the workings behind it in my review of the G7 Pro, but basically: they’re more precise, with a lower power draw.
The GameSir G7 Pro normally retails for AU$159, and when it’s discounted, usually hovers around the AU$135 mark. This week, as part of Prime Day, Amazon is offering it for AU$127.
If that’s still too much to spend on a gamepad, GameSir’s Nova Lite Wireless controller (PC Gamer’s favourite budget wireless controller) is currently going cheap as well:

Our favourite budget PC controller gets a discount that brings it into impulse-buy territory. There’s a lot to love at this price point: 2.4Ghz wireless connectivity, Bluetooth, a wired option via the Type-C port, and ten hours of battery life. The build quality isn’t the sturdiest going around, and there’s no audio jack, but this is a great piece of kit for well under AU$50.View Deal
