In a few short weeks, one of Louisville’s most fun-loving, well-fed, tastefully boozy festivals returns for its 2026 edition: Bourbon & Beyond. Going down from September 24th through September 27th at the Kentucky Exposition Center, the annual extravaganza will once again boast incredible food, quality cocktails, and even free admission to the Kentucky Kingdom theme park. Of course, as the music nerds we are, though, we’re salivating the most for the absolutely killer lineup of bands and artists.
Led by headliners Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Chris Stapleton, and Dave Matthews Band, the musical programming for Bourbon & Beyond 2026 is as extensive as it is exciting. In fact, it’s soextensive and exciting, it might even be a tad overwhelming to the uninitiated. Looking at the long, long list of artists on the flyer, we couldn’t blame you if you feel a tinge of analysis paralysis. But, hey, don’t worry, we got you.
Get Tickets to Bourbon & Beyond
With a stiff drink in hand, we dove headfirst into Bourbon & Beyond 2026’s lineup and schedule, all in an effort to give Consequence readers a bullet-proof guide on the acts that are positively worth their time. Check out who we think are the gems of the festival below, broken down by how early in the day they’re performing.

(Psssst — Don’t tell anybody, but we’re giving away two passes to the festival. For real! Enter for your chance to win them here. And if you don’t want to leave it to chance, you can pick up tickets here.)
Reasons to Get There Early
Sure, the big-shot headliners get all of the attention, but in our humble opinion, the beauty of the festival experience is found in arriving early. Crowds are vastly more manageable, and sliding between stages to catch as much music as the constraints of time allow is a hell of a lot easier. Who knows, you might just see 2029’s headliner performing to a modest crowd on the side stage before a majority of folks even show up.
Bourbon & Beyond 2026 has a host of excellent early acts. The Return of Jackie & Judy — Fred Armison and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker’s Ramones cover project — is a particularly unique spectacle of punk nostalgia. Speaking of legendary punk and alternative rock figures, the one-and-only Cheap Trick is also slated to perform in the heat of the Louisville afternoon. If you see me scream-singing along to “Surrender,” either join in or leave me be.
Elsewhere, up-and-comers Penelope Road (who have been making their way across the festival circuit) and Consequence favorites S.G. Goodman and Amigo the Devil are also bound to be some of the best of the weekend — and all while the lines are still short! Beyond that, there’s a world of musical discovery waiting for you. All you need to do is set your alarm and pack some sunscreen.
Late-Day Gems
As the day draws on, the programming only continues to build momentum. Most obviously, there are the second-billed artists: the rockin’ bastards of Queens of the Stone Age, the ever-wonderful Kacey Musgraves (who dropped one of our favorite albums of the year so far), the communal country rockers Red Clay Strays, and the ’90s hitmakers of Hootie & the Blowfish.
