This is the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 747-8i, and it also happens to be the world’s largest private jet.
It’s exactly the same size as any other Boeing 747, but built as a private jet – meaning a handful of passengers get a space normally reserved for 400 people.
It looks majestic.
But the price is out of this world.
The BBJ program is wild
In theory, almost any Boeing airliner you want could be transformed with the Boing Business Jet (BBJ) program.
It’s obviously up to Boeing, but if you have the budget and it’s physically doable, they’ll do it.
On this occasion, the 420-square meter, dual-level aircraft was built by Boeing but the interior was designed by French interior design firm, Cabinet Alberto Pinto.
With a range of around 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 km), this Boeing Business Jet is a flying palace that could easily fly you across oceans.
The spacious two levels are divided into suites, staterooms, lounges, dining rooms, passenger seating areas, and bathrooms.
The master suite – or primary, as it’s sometimes called in the real estate world – is located in the nose of the aircraft because that’s as far away as you can get from the large and noisy Rolls-Royce turbine engines.
The world’s largest private jet is absolutely massive
The list of amenities is endless.
You get touchscreen-controlled lights, bedside tables, and wall cupholders.
All bedrooms feature walk-in showers and wardrobe space – just like a luxury hotel suite.
It gets better because there are also lit-from-within bookshelves, a high-definition flat screen television, private office space, and even a play area for the kids.
This is probably one of the most luxurious aircraft money can buy.
But that’s the thing – you need a lot of money.
The price varies significantly depending on a few different factors but, in general, you’re looking at at least $500 million.
And that’s a conservative estimate.
There’s probably a reason why even the mega rich opt for smaller and more practical jets made by Gulfstream or Embraer.
