Dillon Danis claims that a bizarre undercard fight stifled DAZN’s involvement in his biggest MMA bout yet.
Danis will take on Mike Perry in the main event of the inaugural Duel Arena event in Orlando on Saturday night. Co-headlining the bill is a heavyweight kickboxing clash between social media pariahs Paul ‘Gypsy Crusader’ Miller and Ben ‘King’ Azoulay.
Duel are a key sponsor behind the wildly controversial Miller, and he has admitted that they were forced to put on their own event after promoters refused to work with him. Danis has now added to that story, noting that DAZN were interested in the fight before learning of the undercard.

Duel Arena promoters clearly have no issue with controversy given their choice of headliners. That Mike Perry is far and away the most family-friendly character of the four main eventers says it all about the other three.
Streamer Gypsy Crusader is one of the most contentious figures on the internet, while King Azoulay is not much better. This is not to mention the years of issues that Dillon Danis has had over the years with fellow fighters and fans.
After promotional officials attempted to get some other names for Danis to fight, he claims that a hometown headliner with Perry was secured. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the New Yorker explained: “It was kind of short notice.
“They can’t put it on DAZN or Misfits because of that Gypsy Crusader guy. They can’t platform him… Go watch his content, I’m actually interested because he’s not allowed around me and I’m wondering if he’ll say the kind of things he says around Mike who is 3 per cent African.”
