Dubbed the ‘world’s first true supercar‘, the Lamborghini Miura is a timeless icon.

Only a handful were built, and recently, around 5 percent of all Miuras ever made were pictured together at Pebble Beach.

The event was designed to mark the car’s 60th anniversary.

But it also turned out to be a very expensive gathering of rare supercars.

Why some people call this the world’s first supercar

When it comes to supercars, there isn’t a specific definition.

In fact, there is more than one, depending on who you ask.

But, generally speaking, one of the most common and commonly accepted definition is the following: a supercar has to be fast, it has to look good, and it has to give a sense of theater.

It has to be a vehicle you can display on a wall poster.

For this reason, some people call the Miura the world’s first supercar.

It was unveiled in the 1960s, and aside from the looks, there are three more reasons why people call it the world’s first supercar.

First, it’s rare; second, it has a V12; and third, the engine is in the middle.

Some purists actually believe that all supercars should be mid-engined, and they should all have V12s.

Only 763 Lamborghini Miuras ever built between 1966 and 1973, and 43 of these recently gathered together at Pebble Beach for a special 60th anniversary celebration of the model.

What you’re looking at is a nine-figure car collection

All kinds of Miuras were gathered at Pebble Beach for this event, and they were all in great condition.

The Miura is still one of the most coveted and valuable vehicles in the world.

Examples in ‘decent’ condition can cost still millions.

Meanwhile, Miuras in mint condition can cost up to eight figures.

We can do the math.

Putting together 43 Miuras in excellent conditions means putting together 43 vehicles that, in a worst-case scenario, are all worth at least seven figures individually.

But at least a few of these will be worth more than that.

So what we’re looking at here is a car collection worth well over $100 million.
