Former UFC star Mike Perry’s second mixed martial arts fight of 2026 did not go to plan.
After leaving MMA’s leading promotion, ‘Platinum’ reinvented himself in bare-knuckle boxing by becoming the BKFC’s leading star.
He has used his freedom with the promotion to explore other opportunities, notably losing to Jake Paul in a 2024 boxing match. And this past May, Perry beat Nate Diaz on Netflix in his return to MMA.
The 34-year-old made it back-to-back outings in that sport on Saturday night, but against a late-notice replacement, Perry’s pursuit of a second straight MMA win was quickly stopped in its tracks.

Dillon Danis shares unsurprising reaction to Mike Perry vs Brandon Jenkins at Dual Arena 1
The first Dual Arena event in Orlando was originally set to be headlined by Perry fighting the polarizing Dillon Danis.
Conor McGregor’s former teammate has not been the most reliable fighter in recent years, and that trend continued this week.
Danis pulled out 48 hours before fight night due to an apparent cut. The former Bellator star was replaced by Brandon Jenkins, who upset the odds to have his hand raised over ‘Platinum’ at the Kia Center.
On a night that included controversial streamer ‘Gypsy Crusader’ and a disqualification for disgraced ex-WWE superstar Velveteen Dream, the main event concluded with an injury.
Perry lost after dislocating his shoulder less than three minutes into the very first round. ‘Platinum’ was on the offensive at the time but suffered the injury during an exchange close to the ropes.
The former UFC fighter moved back and was clearly compromised, resulting in Jenkins swarming Perry for the TKO finish.
It was clear what Danis thought of the fight, having watched on from the sidelines.
“Bum fight,” Danis simply wrote on X.

As expected, fans were quick to remind Danis in the comments section that he pulled out of the fight.
“The one you were scared of.”
“At least they fought, you try to fight every fighter and always chicken out… shows why UFC had no interest in you.”
“Didn’t you back out?”
“Can’t make tweets like this after you pulled out yet again.”
Even the official Dual Arena account got involved in the backlash.
“You ran like a dog from THIS. Hope you saw your mother with the round number dawg.”
