A Yellowstone fan-favorite is coming back for more. The actor is set to reprise his role in Taylor Sheridan‘s Marshals Season 2. According to the latest reports from Deadline, Jefferson White will once again step into Jimmy Hurdstrom’s shoes for the upcoming sequel season of the spin-off series.
Commenting on his latest casting, White said, “I’m thrilled to dive into the world ofMarshalsand continue exploring the American West. The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I’m honored to join them. Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
White gears to return in a recurring capacity alongside fellow Yellowstone alum Luke Grimes, who stars as Kayce Dutton in the spin-off. In this series from Sheridan, Kayce joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.
What did Jefferson White’s Jimmy Hurdstrom do in Yellowstone?
Yellowstone fans loved Jimmy Hurdstrom for being a good-hearted yet rough-around-the-edges ranch hand. The original series saw him go from being a troubled criminal to a resilient, proud cowboy. Now fans will get to see that familiar face in the second season of Marshals, too.
White’s character was taken in by John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) as a favor to his grandfather to save him from a life of crime. Then Rip Wheeler (played by Cole Hauser) gives him an ultimatum to accept the ranch’s brand or face jail time, and Jimmy chooses the brand.
Though he struggles at first, Jimmy ultimately develops a passion for rodeo riding, though it leads him to multiple severe injuries. After a near-fatal accident and a broken promise, John sends Jimmy to the historic 6666 Ranch (Four Sixes Ranch) in Texas to work with Travis Wheatley, played by Sheridan himself.
While there, Jimmy transforms into a proud cowboy, finds love, and marries Emily (Eden Brolin) before John eventually frees him from his debts and obligations to the Yellowstone ranch.
Now he’s set to make his debut in Marshals Season 2, which premieres on October 4, 2026, at 8:30 PM ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
