Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, featuring cameo appearances from stars such as Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart alongside leads Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, is gaining momentum on Hulu years after its release. David Leitch directed the action spin-off movie, which was released in theaters in 2019 and became a big box office success.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw ranks high on Hulu movie charts
According to FlixPatrol, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has entered the top 10 list of movies on Hulu in the United States and currently holds the number 8 spot.
Part of the popular Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw has an all-star cast, including Vanessa Kirby, Idris Elba, Helen Mirren, and many more appearing alongside Johnson and Statham.
Made on a reported budget of approximately $200 million, Hobbs & Shaw opened in over 4,000 theaters and collected over $60 million during its opening weekend (via Box Office Mojo). The film earned close to $174 million domestically and over $586 million internationally, bringing the movie’s lifetime collection to over $760 million.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Hobbs & Shaw received a score of 67 percent on the Tomatometer based on reviews from critics and an 88 percent score on the Popcornmeter from audiences.
After the movie made a big impact at the box office, Johnson hosted a Q&A session on Instagram in which he shared that a sequel is reportedly in the works. According to Digital Spy, he said that producers are “developing the next film.” However, Universal Pictures has not shared an official statement about development on the second film. Meanwhile, speculation continues to surround the production of the franchise’s next planned installment, Fast Forever, which has encountered several delays. Franchise star and producer Vin Diesel revealed earlier this year that filming on the sequel will begin in December.
