Fantasy Premier League is back, and there’s one player that stands out as a must-own pick for managers making transfers before the Gameweek Six deadline.

After a long three-week international break, the Premier League finally returns this weekend and with it comes another Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline.

With a number of big names injured during the break, plenty of managers will be making transfers ahead of the Gameweek Six deadline, with some even using their wildcard chip, and there’s one player that simply has to be top of the transfer list.

Why FPL managers should consider Gonzalo Garcia as their Gameweek Six pun

Heading into Gameweek Six there are several highly-owned forwards flagged with a potential injury, with the 20.5% owned Alexander Isak already ruled out of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City.

With that in mind, there will be plenty of managers looking for a new forward to add to their attacking lineup this weekend, and Fulham’s Gonzalo Garcia is the perfect pick.

Despite being owned by just over 5% of FPL managers at the time of writing, Garcia is arguably the most exciting punt in the game heading into a favourable run of fixtures.

Between now and the November international break, Fulham face all three promoted clubs back to back followed by Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

None of the five fixtures matches score more than three in the Premier League’s official Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), with the stats suggesting that Saturday’s clash against Ipswich Town (A) is a particularly appealing fixture for Garcia.

Ipswich have the most goals conceded to strikers so far this season, with four of the 11 goals scored against the Tractor Boys in their opening five coming from the opposition’s striker.

Additionally, the Spanish forward, who joined Fulham over the summer, is currently fourth for all forwards in the Premier League for both overall shots and shots in the box, with 15 and 13 respectively, with an Expected Goals (xG) tally of 2.34.

Add to this the fact that the 22-year-old could be on penalties after last season’s spot-kick taker, Raul Jimenez, left to join former club Wolverhampton Wanderers over the summer.

Therefore, at such low ownership and priced at just £6.0m, Garcia feels like a low-risk and high-reward no-brainer in FPL, at least for a few weeks.

That being said, managers considering bringing the Fulham striker into their teams may want to do so quickly, as he’s currently likely to rise in price in the early hours of Saturday, October 10.

Should FPL managers sell Bruno Fernandes in Gameweek Six?

Alongside Garcia, there are a number of other players likely to be popular for managers activating their wildcard chip ahead of the Gameweek Six deadline.

In order to fund some big hitters, a lot of managers will consider selling Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes following his disappointment run of form in recent weeks.

Apart from his 23-point haul against Ipswich Town in Gameweek Two, Fernandes, who is owned by 38.1% of managers, has blanked in all of his other fixtures.

At £11.9m, it’s becoming increasingly hard to justify owning the United captain, despite that fact that TOT (H) and LEE (A) in his next two look like good fixtures on paper.

But, for those brave enough to go without Fernandes, it’s possible to build a fantastic team with the likes of Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka, who has gone under the radar despite having 12 shots in the box over the first five gameweeks, making up the midfield.
