АНУ-ын Ерөнхийлөгч Дональд Трамп Цагаачлал, гаалийн хэрэгжилтийн албаны (ICE) нэрийг “NICE” болгон өөрчлөх санал дэвшүүлсэн дэмжигчийнхээ нийтлэлийг олон нийтэд тараажээ.

Donald Trump has shared a supporter’s bizarre social media post suggesting ICE is renamed – for the media coverage.
The X post by a self-professed MAGA journalist said she wanted the president to rebrand U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to National Immigration and Customs Enforcement “so the media has to say NICE agents all day every day”.
“GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT . President DJT,” Trump added as he reposted the message on his Truth Social platform. The user’s original post has been viewed more than 800,000 times and won praise from other MAGA supporters, as well as the president himself.
While it is not clear whether Trump’s apparent endorsement should be taken seriously, the president has advocated a number of name changes since returning to office.
These include issuing an executive order rebranding the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and another renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War.
ICE has become increasingly controversial during Trump’s second presidency, as the agency carries out the commander-in-chief’s immigration crackdown.
Since the president returned to office, his administration has sent masked ICE agents into cities across the United States. In January, Minneapolis became a focal point for the dispute over the crackdown after two residents were shot dead by federal agents.
The Department of Homeland Security closed in mid-February after Democrats demanded that the government reform immigration operations following the killings in Minneapolis.
The following month, Trump fired the then-DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Senate Republicans approved a budget resolution to fund ICE and Customs and Border Protection on Thursday, with the bill passing in a 50-48 vote.
All Senate Democrats and two Republicans were in opposition to the bill, which will allow as much as $140 billion to be allocated to ICE and CBP.
However, the resolution must be adopted by the House of Representatives before officials can begin writing legislation to formally hand funding to the two agencies.
Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, blasted the resolution in a statement from the Senate Democrats.
“$140 billion for ICE. $0 to lower your costs. That’s the choice Republicans made tonight,” he wrote. “While families are paying more for gas, groceries, and housing, Republicans are writing a $140 billion dollar (sic) check to Trump’s enforcement machine.”
A Senate GOP aide told The Washington Post that Republicans expect to spend around half of the potential $140 billion.
