The supercar is spotless, but it’s no longer in ‘holy grail’ condition mainly because of its high mileage, and also because of the way Bolian maintains it.

The YouTuber admitted that he occasionally uses aftermarket parts for it.

But the most interesting he said has to do with the famously high maintenance costs of a Bugatti, which are apparently way off.

Maintaining this Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is less expensive than people say

Speaking to another YouTuber, Magnacars, Ed Bolian said that the maintaining a Bugatti Veyron is not as ‘insane’ as people say it is.

For example, the comprehensive fluid service costs $3,000 or $4,000 rather than the heavily publicized five-figure annual change.

“You can do a pretty comprehensive fluid service for $4,000 as opposed to the full annual $21,000 oil change that everybody uses for clickbait headlines,” he said in the video.

Bolian also said that he occasionally doesn’t use OEM wheels and tires because they’re too expensive.

If you wanted to do things the Bugatti way, you could end up forking out $170,000 for wheels and tires.

But Ed contracted a Chinese manufacturer to create replica wheels that accommodate ‘Veyron-correct’ tires for only $500 per wheel.

The truth is probably in the middle

One of the main reasons the highly-publicized maintenance costs of a Bugatti are so high is that some people believe you should do everything by the book.

Even if you only have to replace a bolt, the idea is that it has to be a Bugatti-approved bolt and therefore cost a million dollars.

This, in theory, is because that’s the only way to make sure you get the most amount of money when you sell your car in the future.

This is probably a by-product of the modern obsession with collecting cars over actually driving them.

There’s probably some truth to it.

A lot of truth, actually.

But the reality is different.

Ed Bolian’s Bugatti Veyron, for example, is not really a low-mileage example and it has at least four famous owners: Birdman,Justin Bieber,Floyd Mayweather, andLil Uzi Vert.

And yet it still cost him $1.45 million.

No matter which way you spin it, a Bugatti is a Bugatti.

As long as it’s been properly maintained and cared for, it’ll never be worthless.

In the big scheme of things, saving a bit of cash by using aftermarket components might sound a bit strange because of the irony of ‘saving money’ on a seven-figure hypercar, but it won’t necessarily make a huge difference to its value.

Bolian is one of those people – bless him – who actually uses his cars, including his Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.

“I’ve driven it home from Vegas. I’ve driven it to Hilton Head and back, Miami and back twice,” he said.

“And you can just be on a road and realize, ‘Oh, this is just a car.’ And then you breathe on the throttle and you’re going a million miles an hour.”

We’re certainly glad people like him still exist.
