Jason Voorhees is back in the Friday the 13th prequel TV series. The official trailer for Crystal Lake has been released. It gives a glimpse of what happened before the events of the 1980 slasher horror film.

What do we see in the Crystal Lake TV show teaser trailer?
The Crystal Lake TV show stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, Jason’s mother. The trailer starts with the opening of Camp Crystal Lake. It cuts to a corpse being carried on a stretcher and then Pam overlooking the lake.
A voiceover talks about a “curse let out on this town.” We then see a younger Pam trying to save her son, Jason Voorhees, from drowning. Throughout the trailer, suspense builds as we see people being chased by “something in the woods.”
The A24 show went through creative shake-ups before landing with Brad Caleb Kane, who will serve as the showrunner. Kane has previously worked on HBO’s It: Welcome to Derry.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kane talked about the Friday the 13th prequel. He said, “We wanted to dive into Pam’s psychology. We wanted to see her relationship with Jason and what his death kicks off in her. Everybody in this world is living in a different genre in their mind, until they collide with the genre that Pam is in.”
The synopsis of the show reads, “The series follows single mother Pam Voorhees, who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door, digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?”
Crystal Lake also stars Devin Kessler, Will Catlett, Danielle Kotch, and Nick Cordileone. It will officially premiere on Peacock in the United States on October 15, 2026.
