Ariana Madix has lost her bid to overturn Rachel Leviss’ revenge porn lawsuit. According to PEOPLE, Leviss sued Madix following the fallout from her affair with Madix’s then-boyfriend Tom Sandoval. For the unversed, Madix joined Vanderpump Rules in Season 2. Leviss, meanwhile, debuted on the show in 2016.
In March 2023, news broke that Tom Sandoval had an affair with Rachel Leviss while in a nearly nine-year relationship with Madix. At the time, sources told PEOPLE that Madix was “completely blindsided.” They added that “devastated doesn’t even scratch the surface of how she feels.”
“Madix learned of the affair when she found sexually explicit videos of Leviss on Sandoval’s cell phone, which Madix then recorded and sent to Leviss,” the paperwork noted. “After the affair became public, Leviss filed suit against Madix for Madix’s alleged conduct in accessing, copying, and disseminating the videos.”
The 41-year-old host appealed the case, claiming that she sent the photos back to Leviss and did not release them to the public. A Los Angeles judge has since rejected the appeal, stating “she failed to meet her burden of establishing that the claims alleged against her arose from constitutionally protected activity.”
Leviss alleged in her lawsuit that Madix took the videos from Sandoval’s phone without permission. She further added that Madix distributed them to herself, Leviss, and other unidentified individuals.
The 31-year-old claimed that the Buying Back My Daughter actress passed along the explicit content to “individuals” at Bravo. Madix’s attorneys countered in the appeal that the affair was “a matter of public interest.”
