The Artful Dodger Renewed for a Third and Final Season
As previously reported, The Artful Dodger will conclude with its upcoming third season. Disney+ has renewed the series for one final chapter, with Thomas Brodie-Sangster returning as Jack Dawkins, also known as the Artful Dodger.
David Thewlis is expected to return as Fagin, while Maia Mitchell will reprise her role as Lady Belle Fox. Production on Season 3 is expected to begin in Sydney in the coming months. However, Disney+ has not yet announced a release window for the final season.
The series originally premiered on Disney+ three years ago, with its second season arriving earlier this year.
Waller and Paradise Lost Reportedly Put on the Back Burner
The status of two DCU series, Waller and Paradise Lost, has also come into question this month. James Gunn announced both projects in 2023 as part of the planned DCU television slate.
A report from The Ankler claimed that both shows had been scrapped. However, Entertainment Weekly subsequently reported that neither project has been formally canceled. Instead, both have been placed on the back burner and are no longer considered priorities at HBO.
Waller, which was developed around Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller following her appearances in the DC universe, is no longer in active development at HBO. However, it remains in development at DC Studios.Meanwhile, Paradise Lost, which centers on the Amazons of Themyscira, has also been put on hold.
