Jiri Prochazka will let the MMA world know his next move when he’s good and ready.

The former light heavyweight champion was last seen on the wrong end of a shocking knockout at the hands of Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 this past April in a bout that he appeared to be on the verge of winning after Ulberg suffered a knee injury. Instead, Ulberg landed a devastating punch to capture a vacant title, though he is also yet to compete again due to a torn ACL.

In all likelihood, Prochazka will be back in action well before Ulberg, but on Sunday he released a statement on Instagram shooting down reports that he has a fight officially booked.

See the statement below.

Just don’t believe to every bullshit on internet.
Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that.
One thing is sure.
I want my preparation to be truly thorough—to break everything down—and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me.
There are still levels that can be reached, and right now I am very grateful to see them clearly.

It’s unclear exactly what “bullshit” Prochazka is referring to, or which potential matchup he is debunking, but rumors have circulated on social media of a meeting with former middleweight contender Paulo Costa. The popular Costa scored a big win in a 205-pound bout at UFC 327, knocking out Azamat Murzakanov to become the first fighter to defeat “The Professional.”

There are currently five numbered events remaining in 2026, with UFC 334 and UFC 335 officially announced for New York on Nov. 14 and Las Vegas in Dec. 12, respectively. It’s unlikely Prochazka lands on September’s UFC 331 card, which is already fully loaded, but UFC 332 on Oct. 3 still needs a headlining bout or two and tickets for the Salt Lake City show have already gone on sale, so that is a potential landing spot for Prochazka.

As it stands, Prochazka’s stance is “Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that.”
