The August 24 episode brought a twist as Chris McKenna’s Jack Brennan assigned Josslyn the covert new mission. However, the real reason behind WSB’s surprising decision to push her as the new leader may finally be coming to light.
Why is there an investigation at Jasper Jacks Enterprises on General Hospital?
General Hospital kicked off the week with intrigue as Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) ordered Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to assume leadership of Jasper Jacks Enterprises.
Josslyn had been lobbying for a new field mission with the WSB. However, she was left stunned when Jack informed her that the agency wants her to remain in Port Charles to run her father’s company.
When she demanded an explanation, Jack confessed that it was news to him as well. The former WSB director speculated that the bureau might want to leverage her role as CEO to network with influential figures worldwide. However, he added that he suspected their real target is JJE itself, or one of its many subsidiaries, and that Josslyn is just their way in.
Josslyn had spent weeks rejecting the CEO position. The push began when Hudson Parker (Troy Lennon Appel), VP of Operations at JJE, arrived in town to relay her father Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) wish that she lead the family business.
The young agent insisted to Jack that she didn’t get why JJE would be on the WSB’s radar, maintaining that her father is no criminal. Despite her doubts, she took on the assignment and later blindsided Hudson by revealing that she was accepting the CEO job.
With the plot still in its early stages, what’s actually going on at JJE and what has drawn the WSB’s interest is still unknown. But whatever the WSB is uncovering at JJE, Jax doesn’t seem to be the culprit. Fans on social media have even floated the idea that Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roché), the other Jacks brother with a long history of trouble with the WSB, could be behind it all, per Soap Opera Digest.
