Dave Filoni’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu finally arrived on Disney+ today, bringing the new galactic adventure to home audiences. Surprisingly, the streaming debut comes with a new TV show that gives an inside look at how the film was made.
The series is titled Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu Official Podcast. It was filmed directly on the original movie’s Adelphi Base Bar set. Filmmaker Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni host the dynamic show. On-screen stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver join the conversation, alongside composer Ludwig Göransson and Grogu himself.
The original film premiered on May 22, 2026, in theaters and received mixed reviews from critics. As of now, it holds a 60% Tomatometer score and an 86% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. At the box office, the movie grossed more than $345 million against a $165 production budget, according to The Numbers.
