Pam Voorhees is at the heart of Peacock’s Crystal Lake, with Linda Cardellini taking on the role of Jason’s mother. The story finds Pam still consumed by grief almost a year after her frail young son dies in the lake. Her fragile routine takes a turn when two outsiders show up and start asking questions about the life she has tried to leave behind.
Fans online are singing the same tune, with many praising Linda Cardellini’s performance as Pam. One wrote, “Don’t Fear the Reaper… …Fear the Pam.” while another post read, “Oddly this looks good, I look forward to this.
A different fan noted, “A24 back with another banger; this looks so spooky good I’m in.”
Fans are especially ecstatic about Cardellini being cast as Pam and her scenes in the newly released trailer. One viewer posted, “I love her no matter the role,” while another wrote, “Just saw the trailer and it is looking good.”

Peacock is giving Crystal Lake a full-season rollout on Oct. 15, when all eight episodes, each running roughly an hour, will arrive at once. Brad Caleb Kane created the series for Peacock and A24, with Linda Cardellini joined by William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.
Callum Vinson portrays a young Jason, while the directing duties are split between Michael Lennox for the opening three episodes and Celine Held, Logan George, and Quyen Tran for the chapters that follow.
