Game of Thrones‘ Red Queen is returning to the spotlight, this time in a video game. The iconic dragon is being added to Game of Thrones: Dragonfire as part of its new campaign update starting September 24.
Warner Bros. Games and HBO have announced that Meleys (Red Queen) is joining the mobile strategy game. The dragon was ridden by Princess Rhaenys Targaryen in House of the Dragon. The game itself is based on HBO’s hit fantasy live-action series.
According to Warner Bros., Meleys is the most requested dragon among players worldwide. The dragon arrives as a Legendary Warrior breed modeled directly after her on-screen appearance. It features scarlet scales and high agility, reminiscent of her portrayal in the series.
Red Queen’s Command skill, Scarlet Strike, targets the enemy with the highest Initiative and deals physical damage from the front line.
Game of Thrones’ Red Queen returns as Dragonfire expands the fantasy world
The Red Queen’s arrival expands the game’s fantasy setting by letting players align directly with her famous rider, Princess Rhaenys. Players can now pledge to Rhaenys as a faction leader. Known as the Queen Who Never Was, Rhaenys and her dragon give players a new way to fight through the Targaryen Civil War.
Along with the gameplay update, developers released a new episode of the “Dragonfire Chronicles” Developer Diary series. The footage reveals how the art and narrative teams worked with HBO to recreate Westeros dragons for the mobile game.
Players who have yet to watch House of the Dragon Season 3 have another reason to watch. Linking Warner Bros. Games and HBO Max accounts unlocks free rewards after watching each episode. Caraxes is available as the final reward for completing the full season.
House of the Dragon Season 3 is now streaming on HBO Max, with all eight episodes available.
Released in June 2026, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is currently free to play on Android and iOS.
