Netflix is bringing its Emmy-winning series back for two more seasons. The streaming giant has announced eight new episodes of the acclaimed culinary franchise, which will highlight celebrated chefs and delve into the artistry and creativity behind desserts.
The announcement brings Chef’s Table back with two new seasons, titled Chef’s Table: Icons and Chef’s Table: Desserts. The first one will focus on chefs who built influential culinary institutions, while the other will highlight inventive dessert chefs from around the world.

Chef’s Table: Icons will put a spotlight on chefs who transformed their restaurants into lasting institutions. These culinary figures helped redefine dining in their respective places and eras. The season will explore how their individual visions became destinations, movements, and standards for others in the industry.
The new season will also examine the work required to reach the highest levels of the culinary world. The stories will focus on the discipline, reinvention, and determination needed to maintain a lasting legacy.
Meanwhile, Chef’s Table: Desserts will shift the focus to the world of sweets and confectionery. It will feature inventive dessert chefs and explore the precision, artistry, and imagination behind their creations. The season will also showcase different approaches to desserts from around the globe.
David Gelb, who created the series, will direct all eight episodes himself. He said, “Chef’s Table has always been about more than food.” He explained that the series focuses on the personal journeys of chefs and the “obsession, discipline, and heart” behind their cuisine.
The filmmaker added that the stories for Icons and Desserts were compelling enough to make him want to take the camera himself. Gelb said, “I’ve found myself profoundly moved by the experience of filming on the most intimate level with these chefs.” He also noted that the filmmaking team continues to challenge itself after 10 years and aims to elevate the series alongside the chefs it features.
Created by Gelb, Chef’s Table is produced by Boardwalk Pictures and David Gelb Films, with Gelb, Andrew Fried, Brian McGinn, and Dane Lillegard serving as executive producers. Netflix will reveal the featured chefs and official release dates for both seasons at a later date.
