Samet “Kachoww” Arıcı has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Team Liquid for the 2027 VCT EMEA season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. The 17-year-old Turkish Duelist would slot into Liquid’s roster planning for next year, though the deal remains a verbal understanding rather than a finalized signing.
Kachoww became a free agent after his release from Fire Flux Esports, the Tier 2 side he helped drag to the top four of the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-In in Barcelona. Fire Flux’s run – the closest a Tier 2 squad came to threatening Champions qualification this cycle – ended at the hands of Team Liquid, who went on to finish runner-up in the Stage 2 Grand Final. That performance put Kachoww on the radar of almost every EMEA organization, with at least four teams reportedly pursuing him for a starting VCT roster spot.
Liquid’s Roster Math Ahead of 2027
The reported interest lands as Liquid reshuffles its own lineup ahead of Champions. The organization recently removed Semyon “purp0” Borchev from its active roster and added Ognjen “GSR” Bondžić, a product of Team Liquid’s academy pipeline who had never played a Tier 1 map before the call-up.
Contract-wise, Liquid’s books look staggered heading into 2027. Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, Kamil “kamo” Frąckowiak and Kimmie “Kicks” Laasner are locked in through the end of 2026, Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko is tied down through the same window, and GSR’s deal runs all the way to 2029, according to Riot’s Global Contract Database.
A Familiar Gamble on Youth
Kachoww’s reported arrival would extend a pattern already visible on Liquid’s Champions roster.
