General Hospital’s recent episode has made fans think that the makers are setting the stage for Robert Scorpio’s death, played by Tristan Rogers. This comes over a year after Rogers passed from lung cancer. Since then, his character has remained on the canvas, with a homage yet to be paid.
Is Robert Scorpio going to die and leave General Hospital?
Recent episodes hint towards the makers putting a proper close to Scorpio’s story. It’s unlikely that his character would be recast.
The speculation began when Robert’s sister-in-law, Felicia Scorpio, tells Anna Devane that Robert is looking forward to returning to Port Charles. She said that he would be coming with his love interest, Holly Sutton. The reason behind his return was cited as signing off from his duties as district attorney and beginning a new chapter. It’s learnt that Robert and Holly want to start a new life in France together.
Last month, Robert Scorpio’s mention was made at least two times, hinting that the write-off of his character has been set in motion. For instance, the acting district attorney, Justine Turner, informed everyone that she would be running for office. This is because Robert has decided to step down from his DA duties during the September 17 episode. A few days later, in another episode, Anna made a reference to Rogers’ character. She told Tristan that he reminded her of someone who doesn’t live in Port Charles any longer. This sparked the speculation that Tristan could be a secret son of Anna and Robert.
Tristan Rogers’ Robert marked his final appearance on July 18, 2025. At the time, his daughter with Holly, Sasha Gilmore, along with her daughter Daisy, relocated to France. The very next month, Rogers passed away at the age of 79. His death was confirmed by longtime manager Meryl Soodak.
