Since 2013, Grand Theft Auto V players have been trying to find new and interesting ways to complete a near-impossible challenge, but in a surprising twist, it’s Minecraft’s Steve that’s taken all the glory.
You may have seen it already, but the Minecraft protagonist has been getting around as of late.
His fighting-game debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate obviously gave him a taste for blood because he’s been popping up in a wide variety of games that are nothing like his own.
A video shared by GameJoker_ showed his recent excursion into the world of GTA V, as part of a growing trend of Claude AI gaming mash-ups. Steve has done the unthinkable however; he’s stopped the train.
The infamous trains in GTA V were thought to be an unstoppable force in Los Santos and Blaine County. They’ll barrel through anything and everything that stands in their way, prompting players from around the world to post their own viral videos of their attempts to halt the mighty machines.
Back when I played GTA V quite regularly, I’d give it a go myself and it’s as hard as it looks. I’ve tried everything from creating a line of tanks and other military-grade vehicles, forming a wall of trucks inside a tunnel, or simply ramming it head on with anything I’d think had enough torque.
Nothing ever does the trick. Your blockades are either sent flying through the air or they explode in fiery balls of misery and shame.
GTA 5’s unstoppable force V.S. Minecraft’s immovable object
In GameJoker_’s video though Steve, with the help of Claude, finally managed to stop the train in its tracks. He did this by placing a wall of bedrock in its path. Bedrock in Minecraft is an unbreakable material that forms the lowest part of the map. Beneath it lies the void so the only way to break it is through Creative Mode or scripting tools.
With that in mind, it was the perfect block to test against the train, and when it finally collided, it did the trick.

Despite its best efforts, the train was unable to power through the wall to the amazement of fans everywhere. Turns out the secret was stitching two entirely different games together like some sort of Frankenstein’s monster. An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.
Of course, it’s not the only havoc Steve has been creating in the game. GTA V and Minecraft were never two games intended to mesh together, so a lot of the ‘gameplay’ you’ll see online is Steve causing absolute carnage with TNT, Creepers, and other such destructive Minecraft tools.
This trend has been good for the occasional chuckle, but it’s quite a worrying glimpse into what could very well be the future of gaming. These crossovers are getting a lot of traction online, so expect to see many more of them throughout the rest of the year.
