Dada 5000 is set on making his return next year in his own promotion.
It was announced earlier this week that Chris Leben is coming out of MMA retirement after competing inside the Octagon for the final time 13 years ago.
Dada 5000, who was stretchered out of his last fight, which took place in 2016, may only be famous in MMA circles for that one bout, but it’s certainly a memorable one.
His short career led him to starting his own promotion, with these two career paths seemingly set to align in 2027.

Dada 5000 plans on being a special attraction for BKB next year
Dada 5000 spoke to Bloody Elbow while being in attendance on BKB 60 fight week in Newcastle, England.
He co-founded the promotion back in 2019, with the original BYB name, standing for Back Yard Brawl, being a reference to his background in bare-knuckle fights.
His name became a piece of MMA lore when his heated rivalry with Kimbo Slice led to a grudge match between them at Bellator 149 in 2016.
Dada hasn’t competed since the bout, which remains ingrained in fans’ memories for many reasons, but that now looks set to change.
When asked about whether he would’ve competed in BKB had the promotion been around while he was still active, he said that this is something he’s already been planning.
“I’m here now, you know,” he said. “I’m healthy, I’m in shape, I work out every day, and being who I am, I just might give the fans a treat in 2027…
“I’mma be honest with you, because I’m doing a lot of different things, I got a lot of massive projects that are coming out, it’s not so much who I want to fight, it’s who qualifies,” Dada continued. “It has to make sense but definitely, you know what I’m saying. I’m like 90% sure that I’ll come back as a special attraction for BKB in 2027 but against who? That remains the question.”

The obvious point to draw attention to is what happened the last time that Dada competed in a professional bout.
He was exhausted when being stretchered out of the cage back in 2016 and claimed after the fight that while he was in there, he suffered kidney failure and two heart attacks.
That being said, he made it clear in the interview that he’s healthy now, having previously said that his preparation, or lack thereof, is what caused these issues in 2016.
