Liverpool fans welcomed Manchester City to Anfield with a brutal chant referencing the recent verdict on the 115 charges.
In a nightmare scenario for Manchester City face fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield for their first fixture following the confirmation that the club had been found guilty of the majority of the 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League in February 2023.
As expected, Liverpool fans were eager to remind both City fans and players about the verdict, with one chant in particular standing out.

Liverpool fans taunt Manchester City with 115 charges chant at Anfield
As one of the clubs most impacted by Manchester City’s breaches of the Premier League rules, it’s no surprise that Liverpool fans were particularly vocal about their frustration at Anfield.
Had City’s results during the period that the charges relate to been wiped, Liverpool would have added another two titles to their tally, in 2018-19 and 2021-22, under former manager Jurgen Klopp.
In light of this, plenty of Liverpool fans arrived at Anfield with various banners and chants slamming City for the 115 charges.
One chant that has since gone viral online, had Liverpool fans singing: “You haven’t won a trophy since 1976.”
Of course, this chant is referencing the fact that, if none of City’s trophies during the period of time in which they breached the Premier League rules counted, the 1976 League Cup would be their last major piece of silverware.
