Shakur Stevenson immediately took cheap shots at Floyd Schofield’s WBA lightweight title victory over Lucas Bahdi, whining on X that a C-level fighter had just beaten an F-level opponent. That petty reaction reeks of jealousy toward a young champion getting showered with praise for putting on a genuinely thrilling, high-drama fight where both men actually stood their ground and traded heavy bombs.
“A C lever fighter beat a F level fighter!!” Shakur posted on X.
Floyd Schofield won over the crowd because he dared to take the exact chances Shakur Stevenson routinely avoids. Instead of running backward, poking from extreme range, and refusing to exchange when Lucas Bahdi let his hands go, Schofield planted his feet, delivered heavy power shots, and absorbed clean counters.
Stevenson’s ultra-cautious style might keep his face clean, but it regularly puts crowds to sleep. Schofield delivered real drama, kept eyes glued to the ring, and gave the sport an entertaining title fight. Stevenson simply hated seeing another boxer get celebrated for bringing excitement.
Shakur Stevenson completely misses the point with his letter grades. Fans celebrated Floyd Schofield because he stood in the pocket, threw hard leather, and let Lucas Bahdi fire back. He refused to spend twelve rounds running away, circling harmlessly, or killing the action. Nobody is crowning Schofield the pound-for-pound king of lightweight, but viewers loved the entertainment value, something Stevenson rarely delivers.
Calling Bahdi an F-grade opponent looks comical when examining Stevenson’s own run at 135 pounds. He shared the ring with Shuichiro Yoshino, Edwin De Los Santos, Artem Harutyunyan, Josh Padley, and William Zepeda. Take Zepeda out of the equation, and Bahdi looks fully capable of beating every single guy on that list.
De Los Santos brings dangerous power, fast hands, and a tricky southpaw stance. Even so, Bahdi proved against Schofield that he belongs in that conversation. If Bahdi is an F-level boxer, where does that leave Yoshino, Harutyunyan, and Padley on Stevenson’s report card?
Schofield took clean headshots that will get him slept against elite punchers. Stevenson had every right to break down those technical flaws. Instead, he dropped childish insults on social media without offering any boxing insight.
That childish reaction reeks of pure jealousy. Schofield captured a world championship in a crowd-pleasing war, while Stevenson chose to trash both participants. Stevenson might be harder to hit, but that safety-first style gives him no right to tear down a young fighter willing to take real risks to entertain the public.
