Call of Duty League (CDL)

The Call of Duty League is bringing top-level competition back to Europe and the UK in 2027. Its schedule starts with a European stop on February 12, with the host location still undisclosed, then heads to DreamHack Birmingham for Major II in April. The season will be played on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, according to schedule details reported by Insider Gaming.
For regional fans, that is more than a pin on the calendar: it means two early-season live events on this side of the Atlantic, rather than a single British date carrying the whole load. Birmingham previously hosted what Insider Gaming described as the fastest-selling Call of Duty esports event in history, while the season’s events drew large crowds and sold out quickly.
The league is following that demand with a European event and a return to Birmingham, giving teams and fans two separate opportunities to see the CDL live. The circuit’s final stop is also a major part of the story: the Call of Duty League Championship is the season-ending event, and its 2027 host location has not been identified.
From Europe to the West Coast, the calendar fills in
The February 12 European stop is the first listed event, but its city remains a question mark. DreamHack Birmingham hosts Major II in April; the primary schedule report does not specify an exact date for that event. Toronto is next, with Major III scheduled for May.
Major IV is set for the West Coast on June 18. California is a possibility, not a confirmed host location, so anyone already plotting the trip should keep the map folded for now. The season then reaches Call of Duty League Champs, which begins on July 8 under the hosting organization OpTic Texas.
The listed dates give teams a clearer outline of the road from the opening European event to the championship, while leaving several venue details to be filled in. Fans can also follow how European talent features in the CDL as the circuit prepares to return to the region.
Pro-Am events add Challengers to the LAN mix
The schedule also gives amateur teams a place in the spotlight. Major II in Birmingham will include a LAN Pro-Am, bringing Challengers teams into the competition, while Major IV is set to feature another Pro-Am. Those events put the league’s top division and its wider competitive ecosystem on the same stage.
Major III will feature a play-in round, which Insider Gaming described as a change to the event format. The schedule also points to additional events and circuits beyond the Majors, though those details were not set out in the report.
OpTic Texas will host Champs, but where the event will be held remains unknown. The organization has previously spoken about taking the championship outside North America for the first time; that history is not confirmation of a 2027 overseas venue.
Two venues are still waiting on answers
The European host location is the next major detail to watch, with Insider Gaming reporting that confirmation is expected later. The final Champs venue is also unannounced, leaving the league with two prominent locations still to reveal.
For now, the first firm regional marker is February 12 in Europe, followed by Birmingham in April. The city for that opening stop-and the place where the 2027 title race ends-will determine how much of the season’s live-event story is still to come.
