Paris Jackson is asking her late father Michael Jackson’s estate to transfer $600 million to a family trust, claiming she and her two brothers have gone without the money for more than 17 years.
In a court filing dated October 29, Paris said that the late singer’s estate has brought in billions of dollars since his death in 2009. However, the Michael Jackson Family Trust — which was set up to provide benefits to Paris, 28, and brothers Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24, after their father’s death — has remained empty.
The trust was supposed to distribute income for the siblings starting when they turned 21. According to the filing, the terms said the three siblings were supposed to receive money held for them when they turned 30, as well as 35 and 40, according to the filing reviewed by The Independent.
Paris alleges in the new court documents, which were filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, that executor John Branca and his late co-executor John McClain instead paid her and her siblings smaller amounts.
“What is clear is that, as more and more cash became available, the Michael Jackson Children’s Trust remained wholly unfunded,” the petition for preliminary distribution said. “More than seventeen years after his passing, Michael Jackson’s family trust remains unfunded.”

Paris is now asking a Los Angeles judge to order the estate to partially distribute assets to the trust.
Her attorneys argue that business deals and property sales have generated a large amount of money for the King of Pop’s estate, including the sale of Neverland Ranch for $22 million in 2020. The petition notes that the executors previously valued the estate at between $2 and $3 billion.
The Michael Jackson Estate told The Independent in a statement that it cannot fund the trusts fully until several legal issues are resolved, but added that more than $200 million has already been distributed to Paris and other beneficiaries.

“Michael Jackson’s will is clear. None of his children receive a distribution until they are in their 30s,” the statement said. “The Estate looks forward to the time when all issues are resolved so that their trusts can be fully funded as Michael wanted.”
The Independent has reached out to Paris’s attorneys for her response to the claims.
The dispute is the latest development in Paris’ battle against her father’s estate over how his money has been managed.
Since last July, she has argued that executors Branca and McClain were mishandling Jackson’s money after she reportedly noticed irregular payments. She went on to accuse the attorneys of “skimming money” from her father’s estate. In April, she accused the executors of her father’s estate of using his money to publicly insult her.
Most recently, Paris asked courts to cut payments that Branca is allegedly awarding himself.
“Enough of the smoke and mirrors — Paris is asking to reduce the management fee. Executor Branca has repeatedly failed to meet deadlines ordered by the judge that are in place to provide Paris and her siblings visibility about how the Estate is being run,” a representative for Paris Jackson told The Independent.
Branca and McClain have denied all allegations against them.
