Vin Diesel’s xXx is set to arrive on Paramount+ soon. According to the streaming service, the action film will be available on the platform from July 1, 2026. Directed by Rob Cohen from a screenplay by Rich Wilkes, xXx was released in theaters on August 9, 2002. The film later spawned two sequels.
The film follows Xander “XXX” Cage, an adrenaline-seeking athlete whose brushes with the law take an unexpected turn when the U.S. government recruits him for a covert operation. Assigned by NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons, Cage is sent to penetrate a Russian criminal organization led by Yorgi after other agents fail to gain access.
The mission becomes increasingly dangerous as the organization moves forward with a plot that threatens Prague. It forces Cage to rely on his skills and unconventional methods to bring the operation to an end. Diesel stars as the lead alongside Samuel L. Jackson as Augustus Gibbons.
The cast also features William Hope as Roger Donnan, Danny Trejo as El Jefe, Asia Argento as Yelena, and Marton Csokas as Yorgi, among others.Critical reception for the film was mixed. On Rotten Tomatoes, xXx holds a 48% critics’ score based on 178 reviews, while its audience score stands at 58%. Meanwhile, on IMDb, it holds a score of 5.9.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film earned $277.4 million worldwide during its theatrical run. This includes over $142 million from domestic theaters and approximately $135 million from international markets.
