Alex Hirschi, aka Supercar Blondie, became acquainted with the newly revealed Czinger 21C Spyder, and it’s no exaggeration to say this is one of the most exciting pieces of engineering to ever hit the roads.
Capable of 1,250hp, this Spyder has the most downforce of any open top road car.
Built in Los Angeles, the $2.5 million hypercar got its big debut at Monterey Car Week.

The Czinger 21C is already a very cool set of wheels
When the original Czinger 21C got its big reveal back in 2022, it was met with critical acclaim.
Capable of top speeds of 281mph and reaching 62mph in 1.9 seconds, there was no doubting the power of this hybrid hypercar.
It was no wonder then that it became something of an icon, with one particular unit turning heads in Miami.
You’d be thinking this would be impossible to surpass.
And that’s where you’d be wrong.
Unveiled at Monterey Car Week in recent days, the Czinger 21C Spyder takes everything you loved about the original 21C and takes it up a notch – while throwing in some new stuff guaranteed to get car fans excited.
Here’s what makes the Czinger 21C Spyder a particularly exciting car
“[With the] 21C Spyder, we’re going even further, amplifying the driver’s connection to the car, debuting world-first technology, and introducing an all new-cockpit experience,” Czinger CEO Lukas Czinger said.
“The 21C Spyder delivers a drive with no equal.”
That’s quite the USP, right?
Alex had the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the hypercar at Monterey Car Week to see what all the fuss was about.
Right off the bat, one difference was evident – the Spyder could have its roof removed.
Alex also noted that the car’s two seats were lined up ‘fighter-jet style’.
Perhaps the biggest change coming with the Spyder is the BrakeNode system.
The product of years of research and development, BrakeNode consolidates the suspension upright brake caliper and hydraulic fluid passages into one component.
This reduces stopping distance by an impressive 15 percent.
And with the cockpit redesign, the multi-piece dashboard has now been replaced with a single 3D-printed exoskeleton structure.
Gone are the touchscreen elements and in comes physical controls and an updated steering wheel.
“Each dynamic characteristic of the 21C Spyder’s drive – steering weight, brake progression, the way the chassis loads through a corner – was turned as a part of 21C’s ground-up approach,” Czinger said in a statement.
“The team behind that tuning draws its experience from the most demanding performance environments in the world, including Formula 1, Le Mans prototypes, top OEMs, and aerospace.”
It’s been hailed as an ‘otherworldly driving experience’ and we can certainly see why.
Only 30 Spyders will be built, and there’ll be 30 lucky individuals out there waiting to scoop them up, there’s no doubt about that.
