Game Night star Sharon Horgan tries to get her life together in the funny Youth trailer. HBO Max dropped the trailer for the comedy-drama series on August 27, 2028. The release date for the HBO Original has also been announced.
Starring Sharon Horgan, the series has been directed by Dawn Shadforth. Horgan plays the role of Alex, who is a newly divorced woman trying to figure out life. The show is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
The first two episodes of Youth will be released together on September 20. Following that, the episodes will be released weekly, every Sunday at the same time. The eight-episode series will air its season finale on November 1, 2026.
The logline of Youth reads, “YOUTH follows a 50-year-old divorcee’s search for sex and love whilst juggling caring for her ailing parents and parenting her should-be grown-up son.”
Alongside Horgan, the cast also features Rupert Friend as Patrick, Sharlene Whyte as Sam, Aran Murphy as Ruari, and Robbie Gee as Frank.

What happens in Youth trailer?
The trailer for Youth begins with a diagnosis for Alex. Harriet Walter’s character says, “It looks like it’s arthritis in your lower jaw.” She then tries to figure out the implications of the ailment. The 1-minute 50-second trailer then jumps to her being in a club and trying to face the challenges posed by her age.
As Alex tries to face family responsibilities and dating, she adds, “My whole situation is hanging on by a thread.” While managing her chaotic life, Alex continues her search for love.
The series is produced by Merman (Amandaland, Bad Sisters, Vladimir). Besides portraying the lead character, Sharon Horgan is also the writer and executive producer for the series. Faye Dorn for Merman, Jim Kleverweis, and director Dawn Shadforth have also joined as executive producers.
