After making her long-awaited debut on the platform, the actor asked her followers to keep things kind while jokingly reminding them to be sensitive because, apparently, she is a baby.

Jennifer Lawrence made the request through a new Instagram Story, writing, “please be mindful,” before warning that “mean or aggressive comments could negatively affect the baby.” She then delivered the punchline herself, adding, “It’s me, I’m the baby.”
The warning came after Lawrence’s first Instagram video quickly became a viral moment. The 36-year-old had stayed away from the platform for years before finally joining under the handle @jlaw. Her bio also poked fun at the username, explaining that “jenniferlawrence was taken.” Her audience wasted no time showing up, with the account now boasting 3.5 M followers.
Lawrence also made her boundaries clear in her debut video. She told followers that negativity could prompt her to leave Instagram altogether, promising, “I will quit. Immediately. No questions asked.” She even joked that she would be able to tell if someone was thinking something mean.
Lawrence became a household name after starring as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise and cemented her status as an awards-season favorite with her Oscar-winning performance in Silver Linings Playbook. She also earned Academy Award nominations for Winter’s Bone, American Hustle, and Joy.
Superhero fans know Lawrence for another iconic role. She portrayed Mystique, the shape-shifting mutant also known as Raven Darkhölme, across four X-Men films, beginning with X-Men: First Class in 2011. She reprised the role in Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix.
Lawrence’s distance from social media was deliberate for years. During a 2014 appearance on BBC Radio 1, she made it clear that Twitter was not for her and warned fans that accounts using her name were not authentic.
