Joy Behar says ‘I’m old, but I’m not dead’ after kissing Anson Mount
Joy Behar left her The View co-hosts stunned when she gave married guest Anson Mount a long kiss on the lips live on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred moments after the Star Trek actor walked out of the backstage area to make his way to the panel and greet the hosts.
Mount was first greeted by Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines, exchanging pleasantries. When he moved to Behar, she pulled the married Star Trek actor in for a long kiss live on air after a momentary embrace. Mount kicked his feet during the kiss before he made his way to greet the other hosts.
The kiss shocked the audience and other panelists, with Haines rising to her feet. The unexpected moment drew chuckles from across the room as the hosts pointed out the lipstick smear on Mount’s lips after the kiss.
As Sunny Hostin passed a tissue to Mount to wipe off the lipstick smudge, Behar joked, “I’m old, but I’m not dead.” Mount then responded, saying, “That’s it, Joy, because I am.” Meanwhile, Hostin revealed that Behar has been looking forward to meeting Mount “all morning.”
Goldberg tried to begin the interview but was distracted by Behar. “This year marks the… are you okay?” she asked Behar. The 83-year-old replied, “I need a little bit of a touch-up.” Behar then shared, “Last time he was here, he brought me flowers for my birthday. And it’s never been the same between us.” Mount responded, saying, “I got married, so…” to which Behar said, “That’s what I mean!”
Mount tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, photographer Darah Trang, on July 8, 2017. The couple has one daughter.
