A California collector who famously paid $38.5 million for one of the world’s rarest Ferrari supercars has now taken delivery of another incredible Prancing Horse for 2026.
The YouTuber, known for his extraordinary Ferrari collection, unveiled his brand new 296 Speciale Coupe and described one of his recent purchases as being ‘beyond a dream’.
His latest arrival joins an already astonishing garage that has continued to grow throughout 2026 with some of Ferrari’s most sought-after models.
And despite owning cars worth tens of millions of dollars, he said he was still excited to experience his latest purchase.
He already paid $38.5M for a Ferrari 250 GTO
David Lee is a supercar collector who needs to prove to nobody that he’s a true Ferrari fan.
For the YouTuber, 2026 had been an unexpectedly busy year for new additions to his already spectacular garage.
While some purchases were planned, others came after successful bids at prestigious auctions.
Among the biggest was a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO that he bought for $38.5 million, making it one of the most valuable cars in his collection.
Speaking about the iconic model, the YouTuber said, ‘the 250 GTO is not even in the dream category; I couldn’t even dream it’.
Alongside that purchase, he has also acquired a 1963 Ferrari 250 Short Wheelbase California Spider, while deliveries of a Ford Mustang GTD, SF90 XX Spider and several other Ferrari models have also arrived or are scheduled to arrive later this year.
The newest edition to his epic supercar collection
The newest addition is a 2026 296 Speciale Coupe, one of the first examples to reach customers in the US.

He opted for a classic Rosso Corsa paint finish with a racing stripe, continuing the colorful food-themed identity that runs throughout his collection.
The car also features retro-inspired wheels, extensive carbon fiber and lightweight components designed to make it even more focused than the standard 296 GTB.

Ferrari’s latest hybrid supercar impressed him from the very first drive
The 296 Speciale builds on the existing 296 GTB by retaining its twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain while adding more performance-oriented upgrades.
Power comes from the combination of the turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor, producing a total of 868 horsepower.
Inside, the Italian brand has fitted lightweight Alcantara seats, carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin and physical steering wheel buttons after moving away from the touch-sensitive controls used on earlier models.

Around the back, the most obvious visual change is the addition of a large rear wing, which the designers say increases downforce by around 20 percent.
Although the performance figures are impressive on paper, the owner said the biggest surprise came from behind the wheel.
Rather than the acceleration time itself, he was struck by the force of the hybrid system delivering power.

He said the sensation felt like riding a roller coaster thanks to the surge of torque.
After comparing it with his Ford Mustang GTD, he said every supercar still has a unique character that immediately feels familiar, adding that he enjoys experiencing each new model for himself rather than judging it from a distance.
Wouldn’t we all?
Whether it eventually becomes a long-term keeper remains to be seen, but for now it has earned a place alongside one of the most valuable Ferrari collections in the world.
