My Chemical Romance kicked off the second North American leg of their highly theatrical “The Black Parade Tour” at New York’s Citi Field on Sunday evening, performing the entirety of their 2006 album The Black Parade as well as a handful of other tracks from across their discography.
Following an opening set from Franz Ferdinand, MCR’s show began with their dramatic performance ofThe Black Parade, complete with costumes, choreographed set pieces, guest vocalists, propagandistic media parodies, and pyrotechnics. After the album performance concluded, the band took a brief pause before heading out onto the B-Stage placed in the center of the stadium. There, they performed a 10-song set of fan-favorites, deep cuts, and hits from their other three studio albums.

Notably, the band busted outDanger Days song “Bulletproof Heart” for the first time since 2022, and ran throughThe Black Parade: The B-Sidestrack “Heaven Help Us” for only the third time in the last four years. They also treated fans to some beloved hits like “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na),” “Give ‘Em Hell, Kid,” and “Helena.” The show ended with “Demolition Lovers,” a sprawling cut from their 2002 debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.
