A one-of-a-kind sports card featuring autographs and game-worn NBA logo jersey patches from Kobe Bryant and LeBron James has surfaced nearly two decades after it was first released. It will sell at public auction for the first time through marketplace Alt this month.
According to Alt, the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman card sat in ungraded condition before selling privately to the current consignor, who had the card graded by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) last month. The Bryant-James card, now graded a PSA 8 (on a scale of 1-10), is from the same set as the Bryant and Michael Jordan Dual Logoman 1/1 that sold for $12.93 million in August 2025. That card still holds the record for a sports card sale at public auction.
“This card was in a private collection for a couple of decades and no one knew it was available,” Alt senior sales director Brendan Kirbach told The Athletic. “It was just sitting raw in someone’s collection.”
The card is one of four dual Bryant-James Autograph Logoman cards from Exquisite Collection produced over multiple years found in public product checklist records. A similar card from the 2009-10 Exquisite Collection set, graded a PSA 6.5/DNA 9 (autograph grade), sold last year at Goldin for $1.16 million. Another Bryant-James Dual Logoman from 2004-05 Exquisite Collection sold at Goldin in 2023 for $840,000. Bryant won his only regular season MVP and James won his only scoring title during the 2007-08 season.
Alt declined to place a pre-sale estimate on the card, but PSA confirmed to The Athletic it is among the most valuable cards the company has graded in 2026.
According to Kirbach, the consignment of the card has already been a significant victory for the platform, which sold $55.5 million worth of trading cards in August, according to card sales database Card Ladder, the third most for any platform behind eBay ($613.4 million) and Fanatics Collect ($130.8 million). Prior to this summer, Alt hadn’t sold a card for $1 million or more. The marketplace then sold the 2024 Panini Revolution Victor Wembanyama Green Kaboom 1/1 for $1.44 million in July to secure its first million-dollar sale. Since then, Alt has since topped the benchmark via private deals brokered by the company and two auctions ending Friday (a LeBron James 2003 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor graded a PSA 10 and the Tom Brady 2013 Panini Prizm Black Finite 1/1) have bidding into seven figures.
“It’s incredibly important because it proves that we can compete and sell those types of cards,” Kirbach said. “People used to come to us, even six months ago, with these million-dollar cards and say, ‘Hey, I’m interested in selling this, but what sales can you point to? Show me you’ve done this before and prove to me you have these bidders.’ We didn’t have it at that time.
“…It inspired the confidence of those (high-end consignors) to let us sell their items because we proved we can do it.”
“Cards of this caliber trading in the open pulls in the next generation of collectors and the capital that follows them, and Alt intends to be the place where those moments happen,” Alt CEO Leore Avidar said in a statement to The Athletic.
Bidding for the card opened Friday and runs through Sept. 24.
