Sydney Sweeney has shared that she was involved in a wide variety of sports ahead of joining the entertainment industry. She said that her parents always encouraged her to develop and explore various interests.
The actress also reflected on what specifically made her choose career in acting. These remarks come amid Sweeney’s recent collaboration with thelatest sports trading app and prediction marketingapplication, Novig.

Sweeney recently left the internet ablaze with her new steamy ad for Novig, where she bares it all. In an exclusive interview with Complex, she revealed that she comes from a sports background. She said that she played sports while growing up.
The Anyone But You star said she’s been a part of soccer, softball and snow ski teams. She added that she learned slalom ski when she was a child and was also into MMA. Continuing, she said, “I love watching hockey and boxing, especially after playing Christie Martin. I have a really huge appreciation for every single fighter. It makes you wonder: with all of those loves, how does one then choose to pursue acting?” the actress added.
Sweeney stated that her parents encouraged her to get into a variety of interests. She said that acting is a profession that gave her a choice and the ability not to just be restricted to one thing for the rest of her life.
“I get to play all these different characters. I get to learn so much about other people and the world. I get to travel. I get to meet interesting and smart, intelligent, creative people, and it’s broadened my world so much more than if I would’ve just chosen one thing,” she explained. The Euphoria actress also said that at age 12, she had a desire to go to the X Games for wakeboarding. However, it never happened.
In 2025, she played Christy Martin in the biographical sports drama film directed by David Michôd. It received mixed reviews and didn’t perform well at the box office.
