These American tourists were left horrified after they discovered a two-way traffic system in Argentina.
Avenida del Libertador in Buenos Aires runs a reversible lane system, in which the direction of traffic can change at different times of day.
Sounds scary, right?
Well, you’d be absolutely right to think that – this video will have your hairs practically standing on end.

Between 3pm and 10pm each day, Avenida del Libertador runs a reversible lane system to ease rush hour congestion.
Center lanes are primarily chosen to serve this purpose, with electronic signage above the road changed to redirect the lanes.
That means they could switch from flowing southwards to becoming northbound to alleviate the huge swathe of cars flocking out of the city and back into the suburbs.
It’s certainly out of the box thinking, we’ll give them that.
But if you’re not used to it, it’s an undoubtedly terrifying driving experience.
Some American tourists were practically left clinging on for dear life, as their Uber driver took them along the road.
“We’re going into oncoming traffic, what are you doing bro?!” one of the tourists yelled in disbelief.
They were somewhere between terrified and thrilled.
A bit like being on a rollercoaster.
For once, the internet was in total agreement on this two-way traffic system
It’s not often that people online can set aside their differences and find common ground.
But on this video, they were wholeheartedly speaking with one voice – this was absurd.
“As an European, I am for once in agreement with the Americans,” one person commented.
“What made them think this was a good idea?” another wrote.
And then there were plenty of comments using more choice language than that to describe how scary this driving system was.
In short, people weren’t keen to see this implemented on the roads of their city.
These roads make the Avenida del Libertador look like a leisurely Sunday morning drive
There are plenty of roads which put drivers on edge.
Maybe you’re thinking of one in your town which you dread going down.
But globally, there’s some truly terrifying roads – ones so bad they make a cruise down the Avenida del Libertador look practically pleasant.
There’s this particularly gnarly example from China, which winds through the mountain peaks.
And over in Bolivia, there’s one so dangerous that it’s been branded ‘Death Road’.
