Did you know that the second most expensive car in the world belonged to Queen Elizabeth II? It really was a car fit for royalty, in no small part due to its unique spec.
Over her lifetime, the Queen was linked to several impressive cars.
One of her finest has to be a Bentley State Limousine, gifted to her in 2002.
When it was gifted to her, it came with some unique features that made it one-of-a-kind, much like the late Queen herself.
What made this Bentley so special – and so expensive?
When you live the life of a Queen, you can expect some of the finer things in life to be at your beck and call.
She had some impressive cars over her life, including a Tonga Green 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE, and a Bentley Mulsanne EWB.
Up until her final years, she was making the most of her cars, as she would reportedly ditch her security and go off-roading.
When this Bentley was gifted to the Queen back in 2002, it was to mark her Golden Jubilee.
It was worth $12 million, as you might expect from a car given to a Head of State – and it was also kitted out with a lot of safety features.
We’re talking Kelvar-reinforced tires, a blast-resistant cabin, and armor-plated doors.
And that’s not all – the interior of the car was also made airtight to protect the occupants from a possible gas attack.

This was a sturdy car, there’s no doubt about it.
But it wasn’t just in terms of safety measures that this Bentley was perfectly suited for Queen Elizabeth II.
There was plenty of space in the passenger cabin, allowing for maximum comfort.
Lambswool was used to deck out the rear seats, and the doors were hinged in a different way to allow for an easier entry.
Two of these limousineswere made for the Queen, each with a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged Rolls-Royce/Bentley L-Series V8 engine.
Both are still part of the Royal Family fleet, with them now serving as state limousines forKing Charles III.

Like mother, like son – how King Charles III is continuing the legacy of automotive greatness of Queen Elizabeth II
It would appear the royal apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree, as King Charles III demonstrates.
His collection is practically second to none, including gems like this Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II and this ‘silent but deadly’ EV.
He even has a car that runs on cheese and wine – yes, seriously.
You don’t get more prestigious than that.
