Griffin, 65, took to her Instagram on Thursday to share a picture holding hands with a young man as they got into a car. Her caption read, “He’s 22. Have at it, internet.” With those words, she basically confirmed her relationship with a partner 43 years younger than her.
The Grammy-winning star clearly knew her comment section would blow up with mixed reactions over the massive age gap. However, she seems completely unbothered by any outcry. “I AM DYING AT THESE COMMENTS”, she wrote in the comments with clapping and laughing emojis.
Griffin has been married twice before. She opened up about her first husband, Matt Moline, in detail on her former Bravo reality show,Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. The same series also highlighted her brief courtship with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
Griffin later married marketing executive Randy Bick. On New Year’s Eve in 2019, the comedian broke the news of their engagement and wedding simultaneously. However, ahead of their fourth wedding anniversary, Griffin filed for divorce from Bick, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the main reason for the split. Their divorce was legally finalized last year.
Besides her new relationship, Griffin has been in the news lately due to her fallout with Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, claiming she’s been banned from the show. “Idon’t even know. When you’re banned from a show — and if you guys know me, I’m banned from most of them. You’re welcome, America and Indonesia,” she shared on Instagram.
The rift reportedly occurred following her criticism of Fallon’s show for inviting UFC fighter Conor McGregor as a guest after he was found liable for sexual assault in a civil suit. He was ordered to pay $257,000 to the woman who accused him of rape.
